Two 100% casino bonuses can require very different turnover

A matched-deposit percentage describes the relationship between a qualifying deposit and a bonus, usually subject to a cap. It does not by itself describe the effort required to convert a restricted balance or the amount eventually withdrawable. Comparing only that percentage leaves the central conditions out of the calculation.

Use a hypothetical deposit of one hundred units and a bonus of one hundred. Offer A requires twenty times the bonus alone. Its qualifying turnover target is two thousand units. Offer B requires twenty times deposit plus bonus. Its target is four thousand units. Both can display the same 100% headline and the same twenty-times multiplier while producing different targets.

Now add contribution. If the chosen game counts at 50%, each ten-unit stake contributes five units towards the requirement. Offer A would need four thousand in total stakes at that constant contribution, and Offer B eight thousand. These are arithmetic examples, not live offers from a named operator.

That comparison is still incomplete. A maximum permitted stake can restrict how turnover accumulates. A short expiry can reduce the time available. Excluded games or prohibited play patterns may invalidate participation. A maximum cash-out or conversion rule can limit the value even if the target is reached.

A smaller turnover target is therefore not enough to declare an offer worthwhile or predict a profit. The account balance can be lost before completion, and outcomes can differ sharply from a long-run theoretical model. A calculator cannot resolve those uncertainties by dividing the target into a number of rounds.

Country and account eligibility also belong in the record. A bonus observed in one currency or market should not be copied into another country’s comparison because the brand is the same. A previous promotion may have changed, expired or required a particular opt-in. Its observation time remains relevant.

For a usable comparison, list deposit threshold, bonus cap, multiplier, turnover basis, contribution, expiry, stake limit and cash-out restrictions in separate fields. If one is unknown, keep it unknown. This makes the differences visible without relying on an exaggerated welcome headline or pretending that every condition can be collapsed into a single star rating.
